Historical Policies, Acts and Events 11. Wreath Reverses Trajan being awarded the Corona Civica is commemorated on this sestertius. The Corona civica or civic crown was awarded to those who saved the lives of roman citizens. It was a crown formed in the shape of oak leaves with acorns as represented on the reverse.

The oak wreath is again used when Trajan was awarded the title OPTIMUS PRINCEPS.
