Historical Policies, Acts and Events 6. REGNA ADSIGNATA. Osroes I, ruler of Parthia, placed a king on the Armenian throne, an act which angered Trajan. What followed was a military action in which Trajan annexed Armenia, invaded Mesopotamia, and then conquered Parthia.
This reverse depicts Trajan seated on platform with attendants receiving 3 kings---presumablely Armenia, Mesopotamia, and Parthia. Reverse inscription literally means assigning kingdoms.
