Gods, Goddesses, and Personifications

  9. Pax

Pax is the Goddess of Peace, whose altar could not be stained with blood. She is a common theme on many Roman issues. Other Pax types may be found under the Dacian war section.

Pax is depicted seated holding olive branch and sceptre. This sestertius type was struck by Trajan from the beginning of his reign in 98Ad until 111AD with several different legends.

Fairly common reverse but the dative legend types of 102-103ad are rather rare.
