Historical Policies, Acts and Events 8a. REX PARTHVS. Osroes I, ruler of Parthia, placed a king on the Armenian throne, Parthamasiris, an act which angered Trajan. What followed was a military action in which Trajan annexed Armenia, invaded Mesopotamia, and then conquered Parthia. When Parthamasiris, the Armenian king Parthia appointed, knelt before trajan and asked to be confirmed as king, Trajan declined and the soldiers attending cheered as Trajan declared Armenia a roman province.
