Gods, Goddesses, and Personifications 6. Fortuna Fortuna , the Goddess of fortune, was devoutly worshipped by the Romans. All things were considered guided by the hand of fortune.
Fortuna is depicted holding a rudder and cornucopiae--this alludes to her guiding the fate and circumstances of man. On the sestertii of 103-111ad, she stands, holding rudder (sometimes on prow) and cornucpiae. On the sestertii of 112-117, she appears seated with same.
