This coin comemmorates the improvement of the city water supply by the building of a new aquaduct.
This Aqua Traiana sestertius depicts a reclining River God in a grotto supported by 2 columns(varieties exist without columns). He holds a reed in his right hand and the left rests on an amphora from which water flows.
