Gods, Goddesses, and Personifications

  1. Annona (Abundantia)

RIC refers to this type as Abundantia, Banti and BMCRE refer to this type as Annona. Both personifications are quite similar. Abundanta signified an abundance(money, food, etc). Annona was the Godess who prosperred the year's increase. Annona literally meaning the provision of food(generally corn) for a year.

This reverse depicts Annona standing, holding corn ears over modius of corn ears and a cornucopiae. There is a garlanded ship's prow in the background
